A new adventure with the BCC Trekkers, by Per Kjellqvist
An SMS to John and we had a deal – The BCC Trekkers were to meet up in Ramsgate in 3 days, cross to Belgium and then take it from there. For those not familiar with the BCC Trekkers, it is the newly formed unauthorized sub-section of the BCC consisting of “Diesel engine” John and Victoria, and “Jumble specialists” Per and Elly (with expert help on Lazy II on route to Queenborough from “Polo shirt” John Yates and Webmaster Hans).
Relaxing on the river
Our fearless Commodore
Has returned from the relay sail around the UK coast. A baton started on the 19th April 2005 to celebrate the 80th anniversery of the Little Ship Club. It will be carried in relays around the coast arriving back in London in November 2006. My leg was from Dartmouth to Plymouth between the 9th and 15th of July.
Many thanks to all those of you who sponsored me and you will be relieved to know that I have returned safely. I am back in port (or should I say Dock?)..
We had beautiful weather and lots of hospitality from Yacht Clubs along the way from Dartmouth to Plymouth. I am hoping to get some photographs to prove that it really happened!
The money raised is going to the RNLI and we have raised £160 so far, but there is still time to chip in if you'd like.
